INNODO

INNODO – This is Ndebele music, to be precise it is Ndebele Traditional music sang by both men and women. Songs differ in many ways but the instrumental sounds are almost the same. Ndebele songs were intended to be sung by young people but with so much talent even old people sing. Unlike in the olden days, today we have many Innodo singers around the KwaDlawulale region. They use different instruments such as Acoustic, Classical and Electrical guitars, Pianos, Drums, Horns, and Whistles etc.

KWADLAWULALE

KWADLAWULALE - The term simply means to "Eat and Sleep" and is used mostly by the Ndebele people when referring to all the Villages of Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality in the Sekhukhune District of the Limpopo Province. Perhaps the term was started by the people who left the Villages for work in the cities. The Drawing (Partial) below shows some of the Villages where there are Ndebele people. A high percentage population of the Ndebele people is found in Mpumalanga Province in KwaNdebele and some in Gauteng and North West Provinces. The way of life in these humble Villages is still a simple one where many people practice their Traditions and it is just a few that have changed as a result of the so many circumstances.
